Race of the Blue Horses

This painting was completely unplanned. One evening I just felt like throwing paint around -- and ended up not knowing where I was going with it. The colour palette was initially composed of warm colours, which didn't look that nice because I was using too many colours (primary yellow, permanent orange, permanent red medium, and a bit of ultramarine). It didn't resonate with me and it looked too chaotic; so I changed the colour palette from predominantly warm to cold, and took more care in painting the horse heads. 
I'm not sure if I'm happy with the final result or not, since it's a very unusual style for me. They seem to me more like spirits rather than real horses -- racing, but not exactly in competition with each other. I just hope I selected the right category!
