Entry for :iconthe-saddle-club:'s Horses of the World contest.
--
Coming to know about this contest, I knew that this is going to be the perfect time to show my love for the Arabian horse. What's not to love about this breed? Native to the deserts of Arabia, there's probably no pair that resembles as closely to the mythical centaur as a Bedouin and his horse. The Bedouin were dedicated breeders, and foals were considered priceless treasures. Aged broodmares were allowed into the tents, and were fed dates and camel's milk as a token of appreciation for the foals they gave birth to throughout their lifetime.

This is my first painting in about a month! Yes I experienced a few frustrations here and there, but in the end I feel like the effort was worth it. :) At times, though, I still regret I painted those rocks around... maybe the painting would've looked better without them... argh, I better stop obsessing! Without those rocks, on the other hand, I think there would have been too much "void." What do you think?
Anyhow, hope you like it! :dummy:

This is beautiful. I love the style and the brightness of the colors. You can almost feel the heat of the desert.
