My name is Yasmine, and I hope I won’t bore you with my bio.
I was born in Italy and it's where I spent the first twelve years of my life; moved to Lebanon in 2007, lived there for six years and a half, then finally moved back to Italy in 2013. Having relatives in both Poland and Egypt, I traveled often while growing up, and still do.
My two greatest loves are horses and art -- art in all its forms and horses in all their diverse colours, shapes and sizes. I sat on a horse's back even before I began to walk; as for art, when I was in first grade I refused doing school work because I preferred drawing instead. But it wasn't until 2007 that I started taking art more "seriously", and I took up photography in the same year.
I do paint other animals sometimes, but horses have always been my favourite subjects. I love depicting them in complete freedom, and it fascinates me that even though we domesticated horses for our own uses, the thing we admire most about them is their free spirit. I think of my art as a celebration of these beautiful animals, whose history is so tightly intertwined with ours. My dream is to become a freelance, full-time equine artist, so that I can paint horses all day long.
Other animals I love besides horses are tigers, dogs, rabbits, tortoises, birds, salamanders, ladybugs, dragonflies, and snails. I've been a vegetarian since I was twelve years old and I'm gradually becoming vegan.
I can speak English, Italian, and a tad of Polish and Arabic.
